Back to Nusa Lombongan

Written 9th November 2012

We got our cards back!!! YAY!!!

We arrived back at Nusa Lombongan after catching the fast ferry from Gilli T. There was a bit of confusion the night before we left as we check in with the company we had booked our ferry tickets with and then went to buy an ice cream. On the way back past the guy called us in and said the ferry wasn't going the next day anymore as the motor was broken. So we called the original guy who sold us the tickets and he said the ferry was definitely going. They had both also told us different times that the ferry was leaving. We couldn't understand how the guy on Gilli T. could have checked us in and found out in the 10 minutes that we were gone that the motor was broken as it was late at night and surely he must have known for hours about the motor. But we also knew that the original guy had lied to us as he ad told us that the other ferry company's ferry had been broken for six months but it was a better and more reliable company! In the end we went and asked them if they were still going and if they knew anything about our boat and they knew it was broken and let us go with them instead. In the end after a lot of backwards and fowardsing we were able to just pay the difference to the new ferry company and the old on had to give them the deposit we had already payed.

We arrived back and convinced the people at Star 2000 to give us our old room to us for IDR 200 000 again.

So nice to get some air-conditioning again! I asked the lady if she had found our cards and she still had them! I was so excited. So I gave her the new ones we had bought. The bit of paper with all the scores for heaps of our games from all the way back to France was gone though which was a shame. But oh well!
We had some lovely days there enjoying the relaxed pace of life.

I surfed Playgrounds and Steve surfed Shippies. One day I hit the reef and grazed my left shin and even cut right through my right bootie (it saved my foot getting really cut up and I only got a few small cuts instead).

On the last day I went out at Shippies too but the current was too strong.

Here is some Indonesian safety at it's best!

We didn't want to leave! But we had too as our visas were running out and the plane ticket was not a changeable one.

In Kuta Steve replaced his Jandals which he bought when we arrived in France after Morocco. They popped out as we were leaving Bali to go to Lombock (as we were walking onto the ferry just before the incident with the truck and the cable) they were also worn right through in the heel.

The next morning we were due to fly to Bangkok, our alarm didn't go off...
