Dolls Houses and High Tea in London.

Written 22nd July 2012.

Sarah and Gerry were all ready to go to the Ealing Beer Festival so when their friend Kelly arrived we all set off together down the road and through the park (that Sarah told us had not so long ago been covered in snow!) to the beer festival. It had hundreds of beers to choose from. Steve even had one called Beer Bum. Haha.

And we listened to a comedian singer who was rude and entertaining. :)

We had Japanese for tea and headed back home on a red double decker bus! Fun! They have a great view from up there.

The next day was Saturday the 7th of July. We got up in the morning after Gerry had already left to go to a stag do. Sarah, Steve and I hopped on the tube at Sarah's station – Northfields,

and headed off to the exciting Museum of Childhood!

It was great! It had lots of cool doll houses and we all had fun spotting the toys that we (or our parents and then us) had had as children!

I thoroughly enjoyed myself!

After that Sarah took us to were Petticoat market was but it was closed. So she took us to Brick Lane where we got lunch.

We caught the bus back into town and got off on Regent Street which was swarming with people! (Going around London is really like going around a Monopoly Board :)) It was funny looking down on them from up in the bus! Sarah showed us where Hamleys is (an old and massive toy store). And we had a look inside at the toys and the life sized lego royal family.

We hurried over to Hyde Park next (but stopped briefly for a wee and a drink of water at this cute pub :))

were we met up with Tahnee and Ash who had come down for the weekend from Manchester and later Aaron and Jess. We had a fun night chilling (and the others were drinking) under a tree

(and listening to famous bands music echoing live out of the nearby concert in the park) until the weather got too bad. We relocated to outside a Sainsbury's and then Sarah and I went home and left the others to their drinking because the trains stop at around midnight so you have to make sure you are on before the last one goes otherwise it's an all-nighter, a lengthly night bus, or an expensive taxi. The others went off to a pub near Camden and had a jolly good night. The next morning we waited around for Steve to turn up and he did eventually, looking rather tired and hungover. We left him in bed to recover and meet up with us later and Sarah, Gerry (who was back) and I went to a nearby pub to watch the Wimbledon final and meet up with Kelly and her husband. Unfortunately though the pub could not get their telly to work. We went to one across the road but Gerry, Kelly and her husband did not like it and wanted to go somewhere else. So they went off and Sarah and I went to go and have high tea which I was very excited about. We caught the bus to the place which was called Maids of Honour. It was such a cute little Englishy tea room!

We had a lovely lunch. Sarah had a slice of chicken pie and I had a roast veggie tart. Then Sarah had cream tea. (A proper English tea with a pot of tea, scones with (clotted?) cream and jam.) I had a hot chocolate and a strawberry cheesecake which was delicious! Mmm. We had a nice relaxing time chatting and eating.

We walked a bit then caught the bus back to Sarah's where Steve had emerged from bed and been to the shop for some late lunch. We watched the end of the final (which was still going) and then went to the Sainsbury's down the road and got a bargain on chicken for dinner. Steve cooked up a roast and played boardgames with Sarah and I.

I had such a fun night! It was a great send-off from London! Thanks so much for having us and making our stay so great guys! We had a wonderful time!
