The Eiffel Tower.

Written 14th August 2012.

Last night we visited the Eiffel Tower. It was a bit of a mission to get there as one of the trains we wanted to go on wasn't running so we had to take a bus too which was a little confusing. When we got there I was still excited about its lacy beauty.

There was a massive line but it was for the lifts.

We got a short line as we wanted to walk up. The walk up was cool. You could admire the view getting smaller and smaller through the ironwork as you climbed.

It was freaky going up in the lift to the very top as you are already high up and you feel as if you are weightlessly flying up inside the tower.

The view was lovely and we got up there just as the sun was setting which was good timing.

We admired the view for a while and found how far it was to New Zealand.

After we drifted back to earth

and admired the tower a little more

before heading off to buy postcards and Eiffel Tower key rings. Then back on another train (which made a big bang and stopped for a while so we chatted to the nice German couple sitting opposite us). We got home quite late and then slept like tired babies all night long on the cosy beds. Today we have just been chilling - first in Paris and then at our Formula 1 Hotel by the airport. We went to the supermarket and dropped off our car.

Here is how many kilometers we have done on the whole car trip (minus 5 that were on the clock when we got our car).

It was a mission getting back to the hotel. There was supposed to be a shuttle but it never came so we had to catch the train. We have to catch a taxi in the morning as our flight is too early for public transport by half an hour. Poo. We are getting up at 4.25 am so I better go to sleep!

Next stop Greece!!!
